Alex Staniforth is a 20-year old endurance adventurer, motivational speaker, charity fundraiser, and ambassador from Cheshire. In March 2016 he released his first book “Icefall”, endorsed by Bear Grylls, to tell the story of his journey through adversity to Everest. In 2015 his second attempt to climb Mount Everest ended in disaster after the Nepal earthquake triggered avalanches, tragically killing three of his team-mates at base camp, whilst narrowly escaping an avalanche himself below Camp 1. In Spring 2014 his first Everest attempt, aged 18, was cut short by another major avalanche. He has raised over £50,000 for various causes, including the victims of the Nepal earthquake.
Alex suffered Epilepsy and more in his childhood that has driven him to succeed and inspire others to build resilience, and overcome their own ‘Everest in life’. He is proud to be the Young Ambassador for the award-winning Westgrove Group and YHA England & Wales.
